01Who we are

FunnelHaus is the brand name of Funnelhaus Digital Incorporated (BC incorporation no. BC1609059), a design and growth studio based in Coquitlam / Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. When this policy says "FunnelHaus", "we", "us" or "our", it means Funnelhaus Digital Incorporated.

We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you're in Quebec, the EU or the UK, we also aim to meet the stricter consent standards of Quebec's Law 25 and the GDPR / UK GDPR.

Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how we handle personal information: Giezi Och, Privacy Officer, hello@funnelhaus.ca.

02What we collect

Information you give us

  • Project inquiry form. Your company name, email address, the service you're interested in, your budget range, and whether you chose to receive updates from us.
  • Fit quiz. The quiz runs entirely in your browser. We don't receive or store your answers. If you then contact us, we only get what you send.
  • Job applications and introductions. Whatever you choose to email us, typically your name, contact details, résumé, portfolio and links to your work.
  • Emails and calls. Your name, contact details and whatever you share with us when you get in touch or work with us.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic technical data. Our hosting provider automatically processes your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. It needs these to deliver the site and keep it secure.
  • Analytics and marketing data, only with your consent. If you allow it, cookies and similar technologies collect device and browser information, approximate location (from your IP address), pages you visit, how you got here, and how you interact with the site. See Cookies and tracking.

We don't ask for sensitive information such as health or financial details through this site. Please don't send it to us.

03Why we use it

We use personal information only for purposes a reasonable person would expect:

  • To respond to inquiries and talk with you about a potential project.
  • To deliver our services, manage client relationships, and send invoices.
  • For recruitment, to review applications and contact candidates.
  • To improve the site, understanding which pages are useful (only with analytics consent).
  • For marketing, sending occasional updates and measuring our ads (only with your consent).
  • To meet legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records, and to protect the site against fraud and abuse.

Job applicants

Information you send us about a job or introduction is used only for recruitment: reviewing your fit and contacting you about opportunities at FunnelHaus. We keep it for 12 months, then delete it, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or you join the team.

For visitors in the EU and UK

Our legal bases are: consent for analytics and marketing cookies and marketing email; steps before entering a contract when you ask us about a project; legitimate interests for running and securing the site and considering job applicants; and legal obligation for records we must keep.

04Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We group them into three categories. Analytics and marketing cookies are off until you opt in. If you don't make a choice, they stay off.

Category Purpose Provider Examples Default
Necessary Makes the site work, keeps it secure, and remembers your cookie choice for 12 months. FunnelHaus; Vercel (hosting) fh_consent Always on
Analytics Counts visits and shows how people use the site (for example, heatmaps and anonymized session recordings) so we can improve it. Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC); Hotjar (Hotjar Ltd.) _ga, _ga_*, _hjSessionUser_*, _hjSession_* Off until you opt in
Marketing Measures our ads, lets us reach people who visited the site, and connects your visits to an inquiry you send us. Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.); HubSpot tracking code (HubSpot, Inc.) _fbp, __hstc, __hssc, hubspotutk Off until you opt in

We may not use every tool listed here at all times, but none of them run without your consent. If you withdraw consent, we stop loading those tools and delete their cookies on our domain where the browser allows it.

You can change your choice anytime with the Cookie Settings button in the footer of every page, or right here:

Until you opt in, our pages don't load content from other companies' servers. The one exception is when you submit our contact form, which sends what you entered to HubSpot.

05Who we share with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run FunnelHaus, under contracts that limit how they can use it:

  • HubSpot, Inc.: our CRM, the service that receives our website inquiry form, and our marketing email platform.
  • Vercel Inc.: website hosting and delivery.
  • Google LLC (Google Workspace): business email and documents, including messages sent to hello@funnelhaus.ca.
  • Google LLC (Google Analytics), Hotjar Ltd. and Meta Platforms, Inc.: only if you allow analytics or marketing cookies.

If you allow marketing cookies, Meta receives information about your visit to help us measure and target our ads, and uses it under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information to professional advisers (such as accountants and lawyers), when required by law, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case the information stays protected by this policy.

06Where data is stored

We're based in Canada, but some of our service providers store or process data outside Canada, mainly in the United States. For example, HubSpot may store your data in the US, and Vercel, Google and Meta operate servers in the US and other countries. Hotjar stores data in the European Union.

While your information is in another country, it's subject to that country's laws and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities. We choose providers that commit to protecting personal information, and for EU/UK visitors we rely on recognized transfer safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

07How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it:

  • Project inquiries that don't become a project: up to 2 years after our last contact.
  • Client records: for the engagement, then as long as Canadian tax and business law requires (generally 6 years).
  • Job applications: 12 months.
  • Marketing email list: until you unsubscribe. We then keep a record of the opt-out so we don't email you again.
  • Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics. Cookie lifetimes are set by each provider.
  • Your cookie choice: 12 months, then we ask again.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

08How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards for the sensitivity of the information. The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, access to personal information is limited to people who need it for their work, and we use established providers with strong security practices.

No system is perfectly secure. If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we'll notify you and the relevant privacy regulators as the law requires.

09Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and learn how it's been used and shared.
  • Correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw consent, for example to marketing email or cookies, at any time. This won't affect anything done before you withdrew it.
  • Delete your information, unless we're legally required to keep it.

If you're in Quebec, the EU or the UK, you may also have the right to data portability, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to be told about automated decisions. We don't make decisions about you using only automated processing.

How to make a request

Email our Privacy Officer at hello@funnelhaus.ca with the subject "Privacy request". We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. We'll respond within 30 days, and tell you if we need more time and why. Requests are free.

Making a complaint

Please contact us first so we can try to fix it. You also have the right to complain to a privacy regulator:

  • Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia
  • Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
  • In Quebec: the Commission d'accès à l'information. In the EU or UK: your local data protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

10Email marketing

We follow Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We only send marketing email to people who have agreed to receive it, for example by ticking the optional updates box on our contact form. That box is never pre-ticked and isn't required to contact us.

Every marketing email identifies FunnelHaus / Funnelhaus Digital Incorporated, tells you how to reach us, and includes an unsubscribe link. We process unsubscribes promptly, within 10 business days at the latest. Replying to your inquiry isn't marketing, and we'll do that whether or not you opt in.

11Children

Our site and services are for businesses and aren't directed at people under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. We'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. If a change affects how we use cookies, we'll ask for your cookie choice again. For significant changes, we'll also let you know by email if we have your address.
